Insight

An audio/visual art installation inspired by Japanese Yokai (spirits). The one that I based this on is called Mokumokuren. The piece was accompanied by a 12-speaker setup musical piece composed by Jordan Kerr, a great friend of mine.

Mokumokuren

A Japanese Yokai that peeks through the torn surfaces on things such as shoji (what we here may call room dividers). To me, this idea that leaving these cracks open where you were being watched from, it induced anxiety - something I was very familiar with at this time.

There was music coming from a 12-speaker setup around the shoji, composed by my great friend Jordan Kerr.

The Glitch Gallery

The first iteration of this piece was presented at the Glitch Gallery, during a gathering organized by my mentor Peter Zebbler Berdovsky. This space was perfect for this, since I mainly relied on projection mapping and a TouchDesigner project running using python to replicate patterns so that the computer didn't tax itself too much.
